Tony then went on to receive his Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Oakland Community College, and later his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan. Beginning his healthcare career in the PreOp/Recovery room setting, Tony was always looking for opportunities to further his knowledge. While working within some of the busiest Detroit Intensive Care Units in the country, Tony took advantage of the opportunities and experiences within the surgical, trauma, cardiothoracic, and transplant patient populations to advance his knowledge. Shifting from the intensive care to organ donation, Tony eventually went from an Organ Donation Coordinator to Advanced Practice Coordinator at Gift of Life Michigan. Being part of their surgical center, Tony was responsible for performing bedside procedures like: liver biopsies, vascular access, and other invasive procedures. Tony currently shares his time between the Henry Ford Transplant Institute as an Organ Recovery Specialist and a Medical Science Liaison for Custodiol HTK.
